I’m Troy Forrest, an artist living and working in the Illawarra. For me, making art isn’t just about the finished piece, it’s about curiosity, play, and the challenge of turning ideas into something you can see and feel. Whether I’m painting, drawing, printing, or shooting photos, I’m always chasing that spark that makes creating exciting.

For over 15 years I’ve worked across oil and acrylic painting, screen printing, digital tools like the iPad, and photography. I studied Fine Arts and also worked in a screen printing studio, experiences that taught me to move easily between experimentation and precision, sometimes loose and playful, other times detailed and exact.

My process shifts between memory and imagination, balancing observation with exploration. A sketch might begin as a quick, fluid idea and grow into something layered and refined, while still carrying the energy of its first spark.
